#QuarantineandChill Film Festival
May - August 2020
Our stay-at-home film festival​ included participants from all around the world. Through the Google Chrome extension Netflix Party, we hosted virtual screenings for hundreds of viewers. Shows included costume contests, curated pre-show music and entertainment, and drinking games during the show. For Juneteenth, we put a pause on the silliness and used our platform to inspire and educate. The Festival ended after a run of nine films that included Solo: A Star Wars Story, Uncut Gems, Rodney King, 13th, The Disaster Artist, Oh, Hello: On Broadway, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, V for Vendetta and Train to Busan.

A modern day, satiric riff on Shakespeare's immortal tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. Created in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, audience members included hundreds of people from around the globe. The reader took on the role of Friar Lawrence and received texts from the young lovers throughout the entirety of their short love.

Ada and the Engine

A contemporary play that tells the classic story of the first computer programmer, Ada Byron Lovelace. Long before cell phones and tablets, Ada dreamed of a world where numbers become machines. She also dreams of her father, the notorious Lord Byron, and a man she loved dearly, inventor of the first mechanical computer, Charles Babbage. This music laced romance shows that some dreams really do come true.
Performed in rotating repertory with another play about following in your father's footsteps while finding your own place in the world, William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Commonly argued as the greatest play of all time, Shakespeare's revenge tragedy with the Charm City Classics Company treatment - reimagined with five actors in 90 thrilling minutes. After the untimely death of his father and prompt wedding of his mother and uncle, Prince Hamlet discovers there's something rotten in the State of Denmark.
Performed in rotating repertory with Ada and the Engine, another tale of youthful questions with no easy answers.

The Santaland Diaries

Artistic Director Patrick J. Regal mans the candy cane tights to play Crumpet the Elf, one of Santa's helpers at Santaland in Macy's Department Store, as he navigates the most wonderful time of the year. Unfortunately, he hates all things cheerful and merry. An absurd look at the holiday shopping season, this one man show, and now perennial holiday favorite, makes you run straight for the egg nog.
